Tom is the founder of Denver Accounting Services. He started his career as an accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. and has served as Chief Financial Officer for several private companies. He has an extensive background in accounting and professional services. Since 2012 he has been the owner of Accounting & Business School of the Rockies. He served as President and CEO of New Horizons Worldwide, Inc. from 1994 through 2006.

During that time New Horizons Computer Learning Centers became the world’s largest independent information technology training company and Microsoft’s largest global training partner with over 300 locations in 70 countries. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Audit Committee of Chesapeake Utilities, Inc. (NYSE: CPK). Chesapeake Utilities is a diversified energy company with natural gas distribution, pipeline and propane operations in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia with $700 million in revenue and a market capitalization of $1.5 billion. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Global LT, a Troy, MI-based private equity owned company that provides language training and translation services

Sondra and her family have recently returned to Colorado and she has a passion for providing top notch accounting, bookkeeping and tax services to clients. Sondra is an accomplished CPA with a Master’s in Business Taxation and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Her professional experience includes working in the Accounting and Tax Departments for three large publicly traded companies plus a real estate property developer. Additionally, she was a former manager at KPMG (Big Four international accounting firm) with experience in both the tax and audit areas covering a variety of industries. Of recent, Sondra worked for an international manufacturing corporation and specialized in cost accounting for inventory processes.

Sondra has succeeded in fast paced, dynamic environments and developed the ability to quickly and successfully adapt to changing business conditions, successfully manage multiple concurrent projects, improve processes and manage daily accounting operations. Further, she is a self-starter with a high attention to detail and takes the time to become an expert in a given industry.

Cherri is a dedicated and skilled accounting professional with 30+ years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has held a variety of accounting positions, to include accounting manager and controller, for multi-million-dollar companies in sales, service, higher education and other industries.

Having found that she enjoys working with entrepreneurs and small business owners the most, she now specializes in assisting them in organizing their financial records, establishing sound bookkeeping practices and creating a solid financial base upon which to build their companies. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Regis University with a B.S. in Accounting. She is also an advanced scuba diver!

Misty is a knowledgeable and trustworthy accounting professional with 20+ years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has held positions of Accounting & HR Manager, Assistant Controller, and Director, as well as owning and operating her own Accounting services company. Having worked for small companies to large corporations, she has found that she prefers working with smaller companies.

The variety and personal contact is something that she enjoys. She is a graduate from the University of Phoenix with a B.S. in Accounting. In her personal time, she enjoys time with family, friends, and travel. She also plays competitive billiards.

After high school and becoming a mom, Laurie wanted to begin her career by working  part-time in a family-owned business. The owner said, “All I need is a Bookkeeper if you want to work for me!” That’s all it took for Laurie to begin her invaluable Accounting career at Clutch Exchange as “Head Bean Counter/Controller”. Working closely with the Company’s CPA and enrolling in night school at Barnes Business College, a prominent technical college in Denver, she discovered her professional calling!

Laurie attended both Arapahoe Community College and the University of Phoenix, graduating with a degree in Accounting and Human Resources. Laurie has years of experience working in various industries providing Accounting, Finance and Human Resources services to her clients., When not working, Laurie can be found enjoying family and singing to all who will listen.

Peter is a tech-savvy financial professional with a decade of experience optimizing and growing small businesses in Denver. He has held positions of Director of Finance and Chief Operating Officer with local Colorado companies, as well as operating his own small business since the age of 22. Known as a jack-of-all-trades, Peter is passionate about helping companies build more efficient financial and operational systems.

Peter attended the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor where he graduated with degrees in Trombone Performance and Music Education. Shortly thereafter, he caught the entrepreneurial bug and started a virtual assistant firm, working with dozens of executives, startups, and small business owners across many different industries. It was through these client relationships that Peter learned the basics of bookkeeping and small business accounting, and would go on to become a Quickbooks Online Certified ProAdvisor.
